Roger has always been known as a very determined and enthusiastic man. Whatever he attempts, he strives to excel the opportunity and no wonder that is how he has today reached the pinnacle of his career in just a small time period.

There is this harsh side to him also, as being a young tennis trainer it is known that roger was a hot tempered guy who could lose his cool very easily in the court and walk out of the scene. Time and practice has proved to overshadow this short coming in him and now we see him as a very cool and calm player.

He has always been a great, family man, speaking several times at public about his relationship with his family specially his mother and has strived to keep a balance between his father's German and mother's South African culture over all.

Apart from spending the time at the court, some other activities of Roger include going at the beach, skiing, golf, football which is his childhood favorite game, and also playing card games. Some of his good friends from the sports career include the superstar of golf, Tiger Woods.

Roger is currently a resident of Oberwil, in Switzerland. He is dating his long term girl friend Miroslava Vavrinec, nicknamed Mirka, a Slovakian girl whom he met a long time back at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She is a former WTA player, and she took retirement from tennis in the year 2002 after a severe foot injury.

Roger launched a brand of cosmetics and fragrance in collaboration with Mirka and Swiss associate called the RF cosmetics at the end of the year 2003

Everybody surely needs some relaxing and free time from ones career, and if you have such a physically demanding profession, there ought to be some of your favorite vacation spots. Roger has always stated to have enjoyed his stays at Maldives to experience the beaches and beautiful Islands. For shopping and luxury he has always preferred the excellence of Dubai and lastly for nothing but a mind and body peace he opts for his very own Switzerland Mountains.

Roger has also known to be a generous soul, having a soft corner for the unprivileged class of people. He has established the very successful, Roger Federer Foundation since the end of the year 2003. The primary motive of this organization is to fund various projects all over the world that have an impact on the benefits of the disadvantaged children. In the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami, Roger encouraged and persuaded his fellow tennis players to raise funds for the victims of the unfortunate incident. He promised to play unlimited matches for the tournaments which were organized for the relief of the tsunami victims. He even autographed his own racquets to put them under auction for raising funds for the aid of UNICEF in the relief operations.

In the month of April last year i-e 2006, Roger was given the opportunity to take over the position of a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF. He then paid several visits to the areas which needed the aid of the UNICEF including India's Tsunami hit areas.
